Frog Survey – Maxum Petroleum

At the deep end of the hole lies Maxum Petroleum (formerly Ranier Petroleum), a petroleum products distributor. Maxum is switched two to three times a week. There is room to spot 27 cars on these tracks, but there is usually less than 10. There are three tracks East, Center and West.

I measured the frogs and I’ve found my smallest one to date, the #7 frog that switches the the east and center tracks. It’s a 84″ long by 12″ wide bolted rail frog. Further north is a #10 frog turnout that switches between the West and East/Center Tracks.
