I\u2019ve spent a good deal of time finishing off the Port of Seattle Seaport Maintenance Facility. This building has been a significant scratch building experience for me. I designed this building in Illustrator then etched the brickwork and cut it with my Cricut (See my blog post Seaport Maintenance<\/a>)<\/p>\n

The building sits on 25 South Horton Street just south of the Cargill Corn Syrup Transfer Facility. It is not Rail served, I\u2019m not sure if it ever was, but the alignment of the Northwest Rollup door suggests it was possible.<\/p>\n

This is the first building I painted using Vallejo Primer (Panzer Gray), all my previous buildings have been primed with a rattle can. I think the Acrylic primer is a much better option. I also assembled this building and masked before painting. I think in the future I will paint and separately apply the trim details. <\/p>\n

I used Tru-Color MILW Maroon for the trim and doors. This my first airbrushing with the paint and it shoots awesome, but it\u2019s a PITA to clean up. Plan on using lots of Acetone if you try it.<\/p>\n

I still need to do a little weathering and add lighting, but this building is a major milestone completion. I\u2019d also like to add a roofed area over the eastern doors. <\/p>\n
